Great :o)
I spent yesterday digging out all the borders and we’ll be asking for volunteers and plant donations shortly,
It will be called the IRH plant collection
Proper formal intro will be sent out in the next few days :o)in reply to: Irish Herbal Festival #1955Wonderful to see Herb Feast taking shape,
should we create a facebook event page? although I notice in an email you sent out you mentioned limited numbers so that might alter thatin reply to: An IRH Publication? #1980the allotment will be a good chance to take photos too, had forgotten that 🙂
in reply to: An IRH Herb Garden? #1961Well in the strict sense it won’t truely be an IRH garden but the allotment and hopefully a bigger public one will be a good start into this area

I once read a book about a ‘wise woman’ years ago, fictional characters set in historical happenings
There were a number of herbs mentioned in it
Always good starting points 😀in reply to: An IRH Publication? #1977Wow, lovely 😀 it reads really nice, informative but not boring, great!

I’m meeting the head of parks in Dublin City council this weekend, hoping to see if the IRH can make more use of the green areas in the city, who knows 🙂 lets hope he likes the band and we don’t put him off haFiction can be really good you’re right,
What a fantastic project this is going to beI think you’re idea of setting a list of the herbs from the start is important, so the first step is obviously deciding on the scope of the herbal
in reply to: An IRH Publication? #1972Maybe I am 😉
Also I was I’ve been thinking about the use of pollen findings in archaelogical surveys,
My brother is an archaeologist and can put in contact with people where I’m hoping to access data on plant findings in dwellings neolithic etc. it would be great if there were actual historical findings on plant usage, or at least good evidence of usage to add to it allHey y’all,

[Abstract] [Provisional PDF]in reply to: An IRH Publication? #1970I read in the metro on the dart this morning that a new report on the ~30,000 species of flora and fauna has been published,
I’m going to see how to get my hands on a copy of that!also the Irish flora book I used in Botany in UCD has Irish names and habitats listed, good starting point too
Wouldn’t it be great to start adding new or long forgotten herbs to our dispensary 😀
in reply to: An IRH Publication? #1969Absolutely would love to help 😮
If it’s an Irish herbology one I think it would be great to stick to western energetics, so much has been done already on ayurveda and tcm
Irish traditional history and old uses ‘to ward against the faeries’ brilliant
Why didn’t I realise I was going to work towards being a herbalist when my gran was still with us, she had so many stories that I didn’t record, ah wellIt’s the role of editor that’s going to be interesting and I’ve a feeling you’re the man for that 😀
